Self-Defense Same Side Grip #1

Counts

  1. Step forward with you left foot (onto the # 12) into a horse stance. Turn your wrist so that your palm is facing up, pull your hand up and into you chest (like making a muscle).
  2. Back fist to the nose.
  3. Back fist to the groin.
  4. Left foot steps over your opponent’s foot (to the #10), your right hand swings for the side striking your opponent in the temple with a ridge hand attack.

Self-Defense Same Side Grip #2

Counts

  1. Step out with your left foot (onto the #10). Your left hand rotates upward to cover your opponent’s wrist (do not break there grip yet). Your right hand outside to inside Soo do chop striking the neck of your opponent.
  2. Grab the opponent’s wrist with your left hand and their neck with your right hand.
  3. Pull down on your opponent’s neck, knee attack (aim with your thigh and not your knee)

Same Side Grip #3

Counts

  1. Pull your fingers back and open up your thumb to form a Y shape with your hand and arm. Lift your arm strait up with your opponent’s wrist in the center of your Y shape. Reach over top of your opponent’s hand grabbing like pac-man with your right hand. Stepping back with you right leg twisting opponent’s wrist to the right, pushing down with your thumbs.
  2. Front snap kick with right leg. Pull opponent’s arm to the right side of your body.
  3. Elbow to the middle of the back.

Same Side Grip #4

Counts

  1. Pull your fist in, take your right hand, and grab your opponent’s wrist.
  2. Cross step with your left foot (onto the #2). Sharply twist your body to straighten out so that you are in a good horse stance. Pop your opponent’s elbow.
  3. Take your left foot and step all the way back around (left foot to the #8), lifting your opponent’s arm up and over your head pulling down their arm into a wrist lock.
  4. Lead leg roundhouse kick.
